PMS Pistol

The PMS is an updated version of the Stechkin APS pistol. It was announced in early 1999 by the Russian arms manufacturer, Molot JSC. PMS stands for "Pistolet Modernizirovanniy Stechkina" which means "Stechkin modernised pistol".

The PMS is chambered for the 9x19mm round and works in self-loading mode only. According to Molot, the PMS has been in production since 1997. the PMS is delayed blowback operated and uses the same rate reducer of the APS in the delay mechanism.

The PMS looks like a good quality weapon. However, similar to the APS, the PMS is a complex, large and heavy pistol.

As of 2005, no further information is available about the PMS. Most likely, the project didn't proceed and production might have ceased.
